Dance Teacher (Maternity Cover)
As part of an exciting expansion, Razzamataz Theatre Schools Newcastle is seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher to join a growing team of talented performers and teachers. We are on the lookout for inspiring, hard-working individuals with a passion for delivering high-quality performing arts tuition to join our team.
The role involves delivering high-quality, dynamic dance lessons for 6-18 year-olds, including our Project Intense Phase Two class, based on Progressing Ballet Technique.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Passion for working with children and young people, and nurturing their creativity.
- Demonstrable passion for the performing arts, especially dance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Willingness to collaborate with other teachers and staff.
- Adaptable and able to tailor teaching methods to individual student needs.
- Commitment to Razzamataz’s values and ethos.
Desirable Criteria:
- Qualifications in performing arts, teaching, or dance/choreography.
- Evidence of commitment to CPD related to the role.
- Professional performance credits.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons for students aged 6-18, including musical theatre and pop.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall student experience.
You must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, or be willing to obtain one.
All classes take place at Newcastle College Performance Academy on Saturdays. The hours of this role are 09:00-15:30.

The role involves delivering high-quality, dynamic singing lessons for 6-18 year-olds, as well as teaching singing, dance, and drama to one of our Minis classes (4-5 years).

Performing Arts Teacher (2-8 years)
As part of an exciting expansion, Razzamataz Theatre Schools Newcastle is seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher to join a growing team of talented performers and teachers. We are on the lookout for inspiring, hard-working individuals with a passion for delivering high-quality performing arts tuition to join our team.
The role involves delivering high-quality, dynamic performing arts lessons to students aged 6-8, as well as leading our Razz Tots class.
RAZZ TOTS (1 hour per week)
“Our parent-assisted classes follow government guidelines for early years development, ensuring a seamless educational journey. Watch your child blossom in confidence, make new friends, and most importantly, have a blast!”
- Follow the lesson plans provided to deliver dynamic and engaging melody and movement sessions for 2-3-year-olds.
- Build and maintain great relationships with students’ caregivers.
- Lead the pre-designed craft section of each session, keeping a close eye on health and safety.
- The ideal candidate is an energetic and engaging individual, preferably with experience in an Early Years and/or Primary setting.
JUNIORS (5 hours per week)
Our Juniors join us for 2 hours each Saturday to explore the world of performance, including dance, singing, and drama. This role involves designing lessons that will make students fall in love with the performing arts.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging performing arts classes to children aged 6-8, in alignment with the Razzamataz Newcastle curriculum.
- Teach a range of styles, including musical theatre, pop singing, and commercial dance (at an accessible level).
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to produce outstanding performances, including seasonal presentations, annual shows, and national/international performances.
- Encourage students in their personal development, including building confidence and life skills.
